ESET has partnered with Google to create a safer browsing experience for Google Chrome users, free from the interruptions of malicious software. On 16th October 2017 Google launched Chrome Cleanup, a feature that will alert users to potential threats and potentially unwanted software. Users will then have the option to remove the unwanted software.
ESET's malware detection engine will now be directly integrated into Chrome. Chrome Cleanup will be included in the latest release of Google Chrome and will run in the background, without interrupting the users. Please note that Chrome Cleanup is not a replacement for a cyber security solution, rather it is designed to protect against software breaking Google's unwanted software policy.
“Using the internet should always be a smooth and safe experience for everyone… Chrome Cleanup addresses unwanted software that can negatively influence a users’ experience on the internet.” said Juraj Malcho, Chief Technology Officer at ESET.
